Special half price offer on zap cat experiences now on

Special half price offer on zap cat experiences now on - just in time for Father's Day

Just in time for Father’s Day (which is on the 21st June this year, in case you were wondering), we’ve negotiated a super half price deal on the Zap Cat experiences on the open seas off Southampton or Canvey Island in Essex, reduced from £99 to a can’t complain-able £49.

Chances are you’ll never have seen one of these things on the water. Blisteringly quick, these powerboats are actually super lightweight inflatable catamarans purpose built for racing. Blink and you’ll miss it. Try and take a photo with an auto-focus camera and you’ll probably just get the tail end of the boat and a plume of white spray. Yes, it’s THAT sort of quick.

So, for anyone who feels the need for speed, this is the experience for them. They’ll spend a total of around two hours out on the water with two sessions in the Zap Cat as co-pilot. That’s to say you’ll be expected to shift your weight around in the boat to balance it for high-speed turns. They’ll be kitted out with all the wet-weather and safety gear  and the time in the Zap Cat is on a one to one basis with the driver instructor. Expect high adrenaline thrills and that windswept look when they reach dry land again!

Take a flight in the 'Spirit of Pashley' Tiger Moth

Take a flight in the 'Spirit of Pashley' Tiger Moth

You can’t help but love the DeHavilland Tiger Moth, so we’re really pleased that we’re now offering 15, 30 and 60 minute flights out of the historic Shoreham airfield in West Sussex.

The airfield itself is steeped in history. Back in 1930 Brighton, Hove and Worthing joined forces to create the airfield at Shoreham to serve the public, with the building of the terminal building starting in 1934 and the first flight service operating Croydon - Shoreham - Deauville in France from 1935.

Today, the same wonderful grade II listed art-deco building is still standing and maintains most of its original features. In fact, the terminal building is a visitor attraction in itself and offers good restaurant and cafe facilities - ideal if you have friends and family wanting to watch your special Tiger Moth flight experience.

The Tiger Moth you’ll fly in was actually built by Moris Motors in 1940 and, after a career with the RAF and Chelsea Aeronautical College, was retired into storage in the 1960s. It wasn’t until 1992 that Northbrook Aeronautical College starting the very long process of painstakingly restoring G-AMNN. Five years later and named ‘The Spirit of Pashley’ after Cecil Pashley, a long-serving pilot instructor at Shoreham airfield, she flies again.

Now you too can be part of this precious piece of aviation history (and we say little, as there only around 250 Tiger Moth’s still flying in the world) and take in the stunning views of the West Sussex coast from the exhilarating ‘bird’s eye view’ of the open air cockpit. Whether you choose a 15, 30 or 60 minute flight, you’ll most likely to have time to take the controls for a short while, so you’ll be actually flying the Tiger Moth!

To celebrate the launch of our Tiger Moth flight experience in West Sussex, the 15 minute taster flight is on special offer at just £99 for one, making it a superb choice for an exciting Father’s Day gift that can make for a day out for all the family.

Trundle through the Cumbrian countryside in a vintage steam traction engine

Trundle through the Cumbrian countryside in a vintage steam traction engine

If you’re looking for something really quite special for a Father’s Day gift, then take a look at our Steam Traction Engine Driving experience, which offers a truly unforgettable and nostalgic steam day that Dad (and Mum) will love.

With the full day experience, Dad can share his place on the footplate with one other, so whether you let Mum go or you take up the challenge, it’s up to you and there will only be your party on the experience, making for a relaxed and friendly family affair, as others can meet up at the departure, arrival and lunch stops to join in the steam traction engine fun.

The setting for this steam day is really rather gorgeous too, as you start at Muncaster Castle, near Broughton in Furnass in Cumbria. You’re first voyage under the power of steam is on the public roads to a welcome spot of lunch at the local steam railway centre, where friends and family can join you there.

There’s no slacking in the afternoon though, as you’re back on the footplate of the coal powered 1912 steam traction engine for the 10 mile drive back to base, before shutting down the engine and saying your goodbyes. If you’re keen to make a weekend of it, you can book a weekend break for two or four with one day of driving on the steam traction engine included. Prices start at £469 for one or two drivers for the one day traction engine experience.
